Does my child really need medication to manage their ADHD? Can’t I just use a behavioural therapy? Despite the proven value of behavioural interventions in improving life for children with ADHD and their families, this review confirms that they are insufficient for addressing the core symptoms of ADHD. Although no form of behavioural therapy appears superior at this stage, their delivery by experienced therapists and the treatment of parental depression does make a difference to their effectiveness.
