This long-term follow-up study shows that a youth-nominated sypport team (YST) intervention following attempted adolescent suicide is associated with reduced mortality (2 deaths vs 13 in control group out of a total of 448 participants). YST is a psychoeducational, social support intervention. Adolescents nominated “caring adults” (mean, 3.4 per adolescent from family, school, and community) to serve as support persons for them after hospitalization.
