This study of 68 children (mean age 9.75 years) with autism spectrum disorder showed that transdiagnostic (not just targeted at anxiety or depression) cognitive behaviour therapy was better at improving measures of emotion regulation (i.e., emotionality, emotion regulation abilities with social skills) and aspects of psychopathology (i.e., a composite measure of internalizing and externalizing symptoms, adaptive behaviors) than a waitlist control intervention. It provides preliminary evidence for this therapeutic approach.
