This randomised controlled trial of cognitive therapy for children and adolescents who had experienced a trauma in the previous 2-6 months demonstrated a cost-effectiveness ratio at 3 years of 2,250 GBP vs 20-30,000 GBP per QALY decision threshold for usual care. Pevention may well be better than cure.
