This systematic review included 24 studies and 3977 participants. Overall, mindfulness interventions were found to have a small to moderate significant effects compared with control interventions. They were most effective when delivered during late adolescence (15-18 years) using combinations of mindfulness activities. Elements of successful design are probably worth noting when considering the introduction of mindfulness programmes into schools.
