This in-depth study of the experiences of ten children aged 10-18 years explored attachment, resilience and trauma experiences. Even children with secure attachment were found to have experienced significant trauma from living with a parent receiving treatment for cancer, demonstrating that the impact of adult illness on children should not be underestimated.
