Event Details
The Wisdom2Action event is an opportunity to share promising practices to improve services to prevent and treat substance use among young people. It is hosted by the Canadian Centre on Substance Abuse, in partnership with the CYCC Network as well as several local and national organizations. Please join us to share knowledge and learn from others about what works to address the needs of Canadian youth at risk of harm from substance use.
Participants will have the opportunity to meet other doing similar work and develop networks to share best and promising innovations in programming.
This event will bring together a diverse group of people who are involved in preventing substance use and supporting interventions for young people who experience it. It is open to community service providers, researchers, educators, government agencies, youth and others who work with young people in this quickly changing field of practice.
Participants will
-
Learn about promising practices from across the region.
-
Share their expertise and experiences with others;
-
Problem solve collectively on challenges facing their work.
-
Form action plans to address these challenges.
-
Create ongoing networks with others from across the sector and across the region.
About the Wisdom2Action Event Series
The Wisdom2Action (W2A) event series was launched by the Children and Youth in Challenging Contexts (CYCC) Network in December 2013.
The W2A model operates off of the principle that everyone in the room has important knowledge to share. We depart from traditional conference style formats, and have instead created a highly participatory design that allows all participants the opportunity to present their ideas or programs, direct the agenda for the day, and host conversations that are meaningful to them. Learn more about what you can expect at these events by downloading the W2A Brochure below.
